Shawn leads engineering in the Innovation Lab. He is focused on rapidly prototyping ideas and bringing innovations back to the business. Shawn works with emerging technologies such as machine learning and computer vision to solve challenges and create additional productivity.

Prior to this role, Shawn was the lead mobile engineer for Build.com. His team was responsible for developing the build.com app and adding augmented reality to the award-winning app. He also was responsible for bringing Node.js to build.com and replace a legacy web application framework.

Before joining build.com in 2013, Shawn spent 15 years leading small engineering teams at Auctiva (purchased by Alibaba), Travidia and various companies in the Sacramento, California area.
